Why your prospects and distributors say “No” to opportunity.

Many hospital patients have a “drip bag” that slowly puts painkillers or medication into their bloodstreams.

Your prospects and distributors have a “negative drip bag” that slowly introduces negative thoughts and victim mentality into their minds.

Every day, television, radio, newspaper and friends consistently feed them negative news, negative thoughts, and disempowering programs. What an effective way to slowly crush and poison their brains. Most people have given up hope. They have forgotten their dreams and are just waiting to die. Sad.

And if the “negative drip feed” didn’t get every dream – the vampire dream-sucking employer destroyed the remnants.

You have to break that cycle or shock people into awareness that there is still life to live and dreams to fulfill.

So if you are giving great presentations to mentally dead people, it’s going to be ugly. Or if you notice that people are looking for reasons not to join, it’s time to throw away that business model.

Instead, operate on a new business model. Program your prospects for success. Build instant and immediate rapport so that your prospect accepts the good ideas you present. That’s the better business model.

Oh, The Questions I Hear!

I’ve talked with thousands of people in the network marketing business. They
ask themselves certain questions. Maybe some are familiar to you:
Why am I not smart enough to do this business?
Why am I successful in corporate America and fail in network marketing?
Why does the phone weigh so much?
Why do the “No”s hurt so bad?
Am I too tall? Am I too short?
I worked so hard and still can’t do it. What’s wrong with me? What’s
wrong with the company? What’s wrong with the product?
The Hitters tell me, “If it is to be, it’s up to me.” Other people do this. Why
can’t I?
Why do these companies fail me?
Why did the federal government shut my company down?
I maxed out my credit card on advertising. Why did it NOT work?
I went to the meetings. I did three-way phone calls. Why doesn’t everyone
see this?

You’ve got to become a Salesperson?

Trying to sell …
The people who tell you that to be successful in MLM, you’ve got to become a
salesperson are … the salespeople! If you haven’t noticed, they are very arrogant. They
believe that what they do is the ONLY correct way to do the business, and anyone who
doesn’t do it THEIR way is a loser.
Don’t fall for it.
The fact is, trying to sell does not work. Ninety-two per-cent of the world’s population –
like you and me – is sales resistant. They don’t like to sell. They don’t like to be sold.
You go into a store, looking for a shirt or a pair of shoes, the sales clerk comes up, what
do you say?
“I’m just looking.”
People do not want to be sold. And then you get into network marketing and some upline
superstar space commander guru leader tells you, “OK. Start by making a list of your
friends & family.” And the plan is to turn YOU into that pushy, aggressive salesperson
that nobody likes.
Selling does not work in this business. Even if you’re one of the 8% of the population
who can do it, you’ll never be able to duplicate, because 92% of the people who join you
simply will not sell.
I go on websites and see brand new companies TODAY, and their “training” is, “Make a
list of your friends & family.” That’s what the industry did 50 years ago. Today is a new
day.
You can’t be successful trying to sell. Instead, you have to target your market. Find
prospects who have raised their hand, and build relationships with those people.
People buy from people they know, like, & trust. You have to build that
relationship.
Building relationships with people is easy and fun, when you have a system that works.

Breast Stroking Across The English Channel

Can you swim?
You can?
Great.
Can you swim across a small pond?
Maybe?
OK.
How about the same small frozen pond in Maine in January?
Oh, really? Why not?
OK, how about the English Channel in July? (It’s not frozen.)
What do you mean, “No”? I thought you said you could swim!
Other people have done it. What do you mean, “Too hard, too far, you haven’t been trained”? Those are just excuses.
OK, OK. We’ll get you a coach, a mentor. He’s a GREAT guy. Great swimmer, too. I saw him do 6 laps in the pool one day. He’ll work with you all week. THEN we’ll dump you out in the Channel.
What do you mean, “NO!”
Kind of like getting marriage counseling from someone who’s never been married, isn’t it? I’ve been married 33 years. If I wanted advice, I’d talk to someone who’s been married 50 years. Not 2 years. Not “read a book about it.”
OK, let’s get to the first lie. (And if you’ve heard me say some of this before, that’s OK. The more you hear it, the easier it’ll be for you to start new with a clean slate.)
